Adventure travel preparation provides travelers with customized training programs that prepare you physically for the demands of your chosen trip. We will analyze the description of your trip to determine what the strength, flexibility, and conditioning requirements will be in order for you to fully enjoy the experience. Then, through a process of evaluation and interview, we’ll design a program that will prepare YOU for YOUR trip.
We strive to find innovative ways to improve your fitness without destroying your free time. We’ll help you break in your gear, get you used to being in all kinds of weather, and make sure your body is as ready as your sense of adventure.

Sports Performance Enhancement
The athlete preparation program promotes off-season training and preparation for competition. Training programs integrate functional strength and the most advanced conditioning techniques while working with athletes on their movement biomechanics to improve speed, agility, and quickness. Periodized progressions promote injury-free seasons by carefully preparing the body for the demands of the sport. Athletes will see improvements in and out of the gym.

Just want to be fit? performENHANCE training programs are for you-no matter what your fitness goal. The emphasis is on setting realistic goals and reaching them. Your personalized program is designed with a focus on improving functional strength and overall fitness.
Service options include one-on-one, semi-private or group training. Complete fitness evaluations are available with all training packages. Evaluations include: resting heart rate and blood pressure, body composition analysis, circumference measurements, flexibility and gross posture assessment, and strength and cardiovascular fitness testing.
About the Company
performENHANCE is owned and operated by Christine “CC” Cunningham, MS, ATC, LAT, CSCS. The company was started in January of 2000 after CC identified the need for a dedicated effort to improving the preparation of Adventure travelers physically for their trips. Adventure traveler preparation was then combined with CC’s current training business, sport athletes and traditional fitness clients, to form performENHANCE.
CC is a personal trainer and specialist in athlete development. She has over 15 years of experience working with clients and athletes of all levels-professional, division 1 college, high school and youth – and has been endorsed by NIKE, Inc. for her expertise in performance training. She is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a NATA BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, and is currently working on her PhD in Movement Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. CC has served on many industry boards including The American Council on Exercise, The American College of Sports Medicine, Life Fitness Academy, and The Chicago Mayors Fitness Council. She is frequently quoted in articles for many of the major magazines and web sites including Real Simple, Redbook, Shape, Self, Health, Outside, weightwatchers.com, and dietsmart.com. CC has authored many articles and book chapters on training and is a frequent industry lecturer.
As the owner of performENHANCE, sport and adventure athlete training, CC specializes in applying advanced methods of conditioning to the design of exercise programs to efficiently and effectively prepare her clients for their endeavors. Her clients include fitness enthusiasts of all ages, adventure travelers, adventure athletes, and sport athletes. A former college soccer player, CC has biked across the US, hiked in the US and Canada, and still competes in both mountain biking, track and cyclocross events. She is an avid trail runner, enthusiastic hiker, cross-country skier and rock climber.
